Fidano is a rarity made available to the Holsteiner breeders: a Holsteiner dressage sire from a Holsteiner bloodline focussed on the dressage aspect.
He has already demonstrated his potential for this discipline several times by winning state champion of the three- and four-year-old riding horses and performing at the five-year-old National Championship.
The black had been on the radar already as a foal. A striking dark coat, tremendous movement and an impressive overall appearance made him a much-noticed championship foal. Fidano retained these good qualities.
In particular with regard to type this stallion is well able to bring about improvement. It should be taken care for the mares to have a quick hind leg able to create thrusting and carrying power in the trot. At walk and canter, his offspring demonstrate all the qualities necessary in dressage horse.

The stallion Fidertanz already drew particular attention to himself at the 2004 Handorf stallion grading where he was awarded the champion title. The following year he completed 30-day performance testing at Neustadt upon Dosse with top marks and won vice champion of his age group at the National Championship, where he received a 9.5 from the test rider. Produced as a dressage horse Fidertanz embarked on a sport horse career with international results to grand prix level with Antonio Do Vale. In Germany, he has sired 42 licensed sons and 128 dressage offspring with results to S level. The most successful Fidertanz son is the licensed stallion Franziskus, successfully shown at international 4*level by Ingrid Klimke.
The second dam Baccarat I was crowned Holsteiner champion mare of the 1990 Elmshorn elite mare show. Her produce also includes the licensed stallions Contiki, Conto and Skyman, as well as Legendär, a Lancer II son successfully shown in dressage to S level.
The damline, stem 776 has been reliably bred for generations and is perfectly suited for producing dressage horses, like for example the stallion My Lord, successfully shown to grand prix dressage level by Nadine Capellmann.
The damsire Silvano performed to an extraordinary standard under the saddle of Dutchwoman Ellen Bontje. His track record includes team silver at the 1997 Verden Europeans and eighth place at the 1998 Rome WEG.
The 3rd generation sire Rocadero – champion of his stallion grading – was exported to Australia at the age of 8, where he was successfully shown in dressage before returning to Holstein in 1998.
Own Performance of Fidano
Fidano underwent stallion performance testing in autumn 2020 in Schlieckau. He completed 50-day testing with a dressage weighted total mark of 8.35; he was given 9.0 on the criteria character, temperament, and willingness to perform. He was awarded 8.75 on rideability by the test rider. The assessment on canter, rideability (commission), and mode of jumping resulted in 8.5, whereas he was given 8.0 on walk and trot.
Ridden by Kimberly Kühl, Fidano won State Champion of the three-year-old riding horses at Elmshorn and four-year-old State Champion at Bad Segeberg. Under the saddle of Lukas Fischer, Fidano scored up to 8.8 for example in Ruhlsdorf to qualify for the National championship. Warendorf saw the combination perform two good rounds against high calibre competition.
