This stallion already licensed in France is an interesting addition to the Holsteiner Verband stallion line-up. Following a very impressive performance at the Saint-Lô stallion grading, the judges awarded the big-framed bay the second best jumping mark in his age group.
Del Arko is an interesting youngster, big-framed and with long and correct legs. Worked at the Elmshorn facility, the 5-year-old demonstrates a big canter as well as great quality and carefulness over the jumps. His exceptional hind leg technique is particular impressive. The results of his French on-station stallion performance test attest to good rideability and good basic gaits.
The big-framed young stallion is an interesting option because of his gene pool. In the paternal line he has two crosses to Ladykiller, whereas his dam’s genetic background provides for a complete outcross through Anglo-Arabian Quartz de Frely and Anglo-Norman Ukase. His rideability is very good for a French-bred stallion. Particularly favourable traits are his long-lined body as well as his correct legs which should make him particularly suited for breeding small mares with less frame as well as those with not much of a canter. Due to his tremendously scopey jumping with excellent hind leg technique he should be the perfect match for mares lacking in this department.

Sire
Most notably, Del Arko is an outcross stallion approved for Holsteiner breeding from a sire line tracing back to the highly successful TB foundation stallion Ladykiller through Tsunami de Hus, L’Arc de Triomphe, Landor S, Landadel, and Landgraf I. Currently the most successful L’Arc de Triomphe offspring is Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot. Under Spain’s Eduardo Alvarez Aznar he competed at the Gothenburg Europeans in 2017.
Tsunami de Hus’ dam Utima is a full sister to Arko III, a stallion successfully shown by Nick Skelton. Tsunami de Hus won the 5-year-old class at the Selle Francais Stallion Masters in 2012 and was sold to his current owner Alexander Onischenko at 6-year-old.
Damline
A sister to Del Arko, Vitaline du Moutier, has placings to 1.30m level under Rashed Yousef Aljneibi.
Del Arko’s damsire is the Anglo-Arabian stallion Quartz de Frely, with almost 40% TB genes and a bloodline influenced by AA icons like Matador, Nithard, or Massondo.
The next stallion in the female line is Ukase SF, a son of Ibrahim SF, a stallion known to stamp his offspring. The three TB stallions Amarpour, Kalabaka, and Redstar II follow in direct succession, completing the lineage in a most interesting way. French top sire Diamant de Semilly also carries Amarpour in the direct dam line.

Offspring of Del Arko SF
Oozing type and athleticism, a Del Arko – Clearway foal selected for the Holsteiner foal auction held at the Hamburg Derby was knocked down at 13,000 euros. Another foal by Del Arko out of a Landos-Romino mare was born in Jahrsdorf. The breeder Heinrich Gautschi about his foal: “I am very happy indeed about this bold and confident colt as he is typey, with loads of energy, and a canter indicating that he has really got what it takes. Moreover, he is leggy, dynamic and with lots of expression, qualities which have definitely come through Del Arko. We quickly decided to breed the mare to Del Arko again“.
