Nekton

Nimmerdor — Coriano

Description of Nekton

Nekton is of special importance to the Holsteiner breeding programme not only because of his sire Nimmerdor. His dam line is of special interest as well, seeing that it traces back to a highly successful Dithmarschen mare family through the influential mares Legende and Viola. With a jumping index at 143 points, Nekton topped the ranking at the Adelheidsdorf stallion performance testing. He took 4th place at the Elmshorn 5-year-old Jumping State Championship and qualified for the Warendorf National Championships. In 2006, Nekton qualified for the Bundeschapionat again under Lars Bak Andersen who had gotten the ride on him by then. At 7- and 8-year-old, he won jumper classes at S* level, in 2009 he won at S** and was highly placed at S*** level. When Nekton was retired from competition in 2012, he looked back on a highly successful competition career at national and international level under Lars Bak Andersen. Nekton’s sire Nimmerdor is rated one of the best European warmblood sires. He successfully competed at international level with Albert Voorn. Nekton’s dam Legende a full sister to the licensed stallion Casado. Viola is none other than the dam to Dobel’s Cento, under Otto Becker one of the best and most successful jumping stallions in international warmblood breeding. Nekton has already sired six licensed sons and eleven state premium daughters. Over the years, Nekton has consistently produced highly interesting sport horses. Boasting a breeding value of 136 (young horse tests jumping), he is one of the Holsteiner stallion keeping’s top sires. Alina is one of Nekton’s excellent show jumping offspring. In 2016, at 8-year-old, she placed in jumping classes to international S*** level under Carsten-Otto Nagel. Naktarina B and Christine Tribble McCrea (USA) earned 10,000 $ by placing 4th in the 1.60m competition in Harrisburg PA. Nelson has international results to 1.55m under Mexican rider Jose Alberto Martinez Vazquez. The licensed stallion Nerrado has placings to international S*** level under Björn Nagel. Nekton is stationed at the Marbach main and state stud during the covering season and is available to Holsteiner breeders through fresh (cooled) semen. Holsteiner mares may be inseminated with fresh Nekton semen at the Verband stallion stations from Tuesday to Saturday without incurring charges for shipping.
