The selection of the 2 ½-year-old young stallions for the licensing event in autumn will take place this year in September after the Bundeschampionat.
From September 7th to 11th as well as from September 14th to 16th, the stallions of the 2018 crop will present themselves in free jumping, in free-jumping and hand-jumping on the pavement in Elmshorn to receive a positive judgement from the selection committee. Like last year, the selection committee expects about 240 young stallions. By July 20, 215 registrations had already been received by the Holsteiner Verband office in Kiel. The stallions Casall, Million Dollar, Cornet Obolensky, Colman and Clarimo have the most offspring. Besides the offspring of the proven stallions, spectators can also look forward to the offspring of the younger generation of stallions and some dressage sires.
Despite the restrictions caused by the Corona pandemic, the Holsteiner Verband plans to hold the licensing and auction event in Neumünster in the fall. A hygiene concept with 1,000 spectators is being worked on at full speed. It is planned to shorten the event by one day. The event will then take place over three days, from Thursday to Saturday (29. - 31. Oktober). With the aim of increasing the number of spectators, it is being considered to offer a video transmission including a technical commentary on the event for 500 people in a side hall. The auction is planned as a hybrid auction, i.e. you can bid both online and live.
