Studbook Holstein Global for MARES
Mares registered with one of the WBFSH affiliated breed societies listed in the articles of the Holsteiner Verband can be presented for registration into the studbook Holstein Global at various inspection and registration sites in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and abroad.
Can my mare and her offspring be registered in the studbook Holstein Global?
Please contact Dr. Stefanie Bergmann, Holsteiner Verband in Kiel with this question and a copy of the pedigree papers of your mare:
OFFSPRING produced by these MARES: The mare‘s produce – the next generation – will then be entered into the studbook Holstein Global, provided that the foals are by a stallion listed in the Holsteiner Verband stallion book I. The foals, being 50 percent Holsteiner horses, are entered into the Holsteiner stud book and issued Holsteiner registration papers. Foals registered in this way are eligible for registration into the traditional Holsteiner Verband stud book I for mares as 3-year-old fillies whereas colts may be presented for Neumünster stallion grading pre-selection.
Studbook Holstein Global for STALLIONS
Upon application, any at least 3-year-old stallion may be registered into the Holstein Global stallion book provided that he has been approved by and registered with one of the WBFSH affiliated breed societies listed in the articles of the Holsteiner Verband and has documentation of age-appropriate stallion performance testing.
Can I breed my Holsteiner mare to the desired stallion?
Please contact Bettina Mathiszyk, Holsteiner Verband in Kiel with this question and a copy of the pedigree papers of your mare:
OFFSPRING of these STALLIONS: Offspring sired by these stallions is registered in the Holstein Global studbook, provided that they are out of a dam listed in the traditional Holsteiner studbook and issued Holsteiner registration papers. Same as with the mares, female and male offspring will be given the same rights and opportunities as traditional Holsteiners in the selection process.
